In 2009, Jack Elliott Productions was engaged by the City of Tracy, and the staff of the Grand Theatre Center for the Arts to be a “Presenter” for the 2010 – 2011 Theatrical Season.  RENT is the sixth production presented by Jack Elliott.  In September of 2009 Jack Elliott Productions became The E Academy for the Performing Arts (E Academy).  E Academy went on to present “The Laramie Project”, “A Streetcar Named Desire”, “Doubt”, and “At the Playground”.

In March of 2011, the Tracy Performing Arts Foundation acquired The E Academy for the Performing Arts to continue their mission of nurturing and perpetuating the performing arts. Mr. Elliott is now the Executive Director of the Tracy Performing Arts Foundation (TPAF).  RENT is the first joint production for TPAF and E Academy. TPAF will be offering a Children’s Theatre Camp for grades 1 through 3; Kid’s Theatre Camp for grades 4 through 8; and a Teen’s Theatre Camp for grades 9 through 12. The Summer Camp is offered through collaboration with the Grand Theatre Center for the Arts; The City of Tracy’s Arts Education Program and the Tracy Performing Arts Foundation. Classes will be held at the Grand and at TPAF’s facility known as The E Gallery and Performance Annex located at 729 Central Avenue (adjacent to the Grand) in downtown Tracy. Students participating in the Summer Theatre Camp 2011 will have the opportunity to audition for a major role and/or participate in the production of Alice In Wonderland which will be produced in conjunction with their academic theatrical experience.

It is with true excitement, that we anticipate this collaboration will provide our community the benefits of creating a performing arts culture in our community. We look forward to highlighting the extreme talent we have in our community, not only through our E Academy, but by working with other performing arts schools and teachers. We look forward to touching all aspects of performing arts in our endeavors and hope you will join us by supporting our local artists!
